The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou
The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, also known as the "2022 Hangzhou Asian Games", is the third time that China has hosted Asia's highest-level international comprehensive sports event after the 1990 Beijing Asian Games and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games. On 2022 July 19, the Olympic Council of Asia announced that the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, originally scheduled to be held from September 10 to 25 2022, will be held from 23 September to October 8, 2023, with the name and logo of the event unchanged.
The competition events of the Hangzhou Asian Games are set up: 40 major events, 61 sub-events, and 481 small events. The 40 sports include 31 Olympic and 9 non-Olympic sports, while the 40 major sports remain unchanged, two new competitions, e-sports and breakdancing。 The Hangzhou Asian Games will produce 481 gold medals.
With the positioning of "China's New Era, Hangzhou New Asian Games" and the goal of "Chinese characteristics, Asian style and splendidness", the Hangzhou Asian Games adheres to the concept of "green, intelligent, thrifty and civilized", and adheres to the principle of "Hangzhou as the main and shared by the whole province".
From April 2023, 25, the three-day Hangzhou Asian Games delegation meeting will be held in Hangzhou, with representatives of the Olympic Committee from 45 Asian countries and regions participating. On June 15, the 100-day countdown to the Hangzhou Asian Games, the Asian Games flame was successfully collected in Damojiao Mountain, Liangzhu Ancient City Site Park, Hangzhou; On the same day, the medal "Hushan" of the Hangzhou Asian Games was released。 On June 29, the second World Media Conference of the Hangzhou Asian Games was held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center. In July, the registration of athletes for the Hangzhou Asian Games was successfully completed, and the Olympic Committees of 45 countries (regions) of the Olympic Council of Asia have registered, and the number of athletes has reached more than 1,2500, the largest number of registrations ever. On September 15, the 15th Asian Games in Hangzhou released the promotional film "City of Love". On September 18, the main media center of the Hangzhou Asian Games was officially opened, opening its doors to welcome media reporters from all over the world。
